PVPHS travelers coming aboard the “Danube Rhapsody” river cruise concert tour will experience Europe aboard the Amadeus Silver II as their floating home away from home. Launched in 2016, the vessel is part of the award-winning silver series, the largest ships in the fleet — stretching an impressive 443 feet.
Spacious and Comfortable Accommodations
Onboard, you’ll find modern, thoughtful design and generous space (compared to other vessels). For the journey in April of 2025, Amadeus Silver II features 70+ spacious cabins and many comfortable public areas for both the students and guests to gather and enjoy the journey. The cabins on the middle Strauss and upper Mozart Decks are 188 square feet, boasting drop-down windows that create the ambiance of a balcony. If you’re looking for more space and are ready to splurge, the ten suites on the Mozart Deck are an expansive 284 square feet, complete with walkout balconies and larger bathrooms.
The lower Haydn Deck (reserved for students-only and tour staff) offers 172 square feet cabins with fixed windows. Each cabin can be configured with double or single beds, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Gourmet Dining and Lovely Lounges
True to its name, the Panorama Restaurant offers glorious vistas while serving as the main dining area. It offers an XXL buffet-style daily breakfast with freshly baked bread and pastries, plus made-to-order dishes, an everyday changing buffet for lunch with a salad-bar and lighter options, followed by sumptuous multi-course dinners inspired by the destinations visited. On the mouth-watering menu are regional specialties from Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia, as well as familiar favorites and vegetarian options. For a lighter or quick lunch, the lounge provides an alternative. In addition to all breakfast beverages (water, tea, coffee, milk and juices), table water is included for all meals, however soft drinks or adult beverages and specialty coffees are optional (with drink packages available for pre-purchase).
Additional Amenities
The sun deck is THE place to enjoy the best view of the stunning landscape along the Danube, plus there’s shuffleboard, and giant chess set. Travelers can maintain their fitness routine in the small, but well-equipped gym. For anyone with difficulty walking stairs, a lift conveniently connects the three passenger decks.
For a quieter adults-only retreat (unless used as a rehearsal space), the Amadeus Club at the ship’s rear offers indoor and outdoor seating, a small library, games, and two computers.
Eco-Friendly Travel
Amadeus River Cruises is the only European river cruise line with the prestigious “Green Globe” certification for sustainable travel. This recognition highlights their commitment to energy and water-saving measures and ecological practices.
